Come join other chapter members in our first plant sale of the season at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. We need volunteers to help with setup, tear down and selling of the azaleas, most of which you won't find in "big box" stores. Rain date is 30 April
Come join other chapter members in our second plant sale of the season at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. We need volunteers to help with setup, tear down and selling of the azaleas, most of which you won't find in "big box" stores. Rain date is 7 May
Come to our annual cutting exchange to pick from a wide selection of cuttings from hard to find azalea varieties. We will also have a plant sale. Bring your extra plants to share with other members and pick up some new plants for your collection.
The chapter will meet at Kirkwood Presbyterian Church to hear a speaker (to be determined). We will also be holding a plant exchange, so bring your extra plant(s) to share and take advantage of the opportunity to add to your plant collection.
Annual holiday potluck social. In addition to the social aspect, we will hold our annual meeting to vote for officers, approve the budget and approve donations for the year. Members are asked to bring a potluck dish to share.
The next chapter meeting will be held on 17 March at Kirkwood Presbyterian Church. Our speaker will be Dr. Ajit Thakur, who will be giving a presentation on Kurume azaleas
This year’s Convention, hosted by the Alabamense Chapter, will be on Tuesday April 2 through Thursday April 4 in Auburn, Alabama. These dates should be peak bloom time for many deciduous and evergreen azaleas.
The Potomac Valley Chapter (PVC) of the ARS has extended an invitation to our chapter to attend their District 9 Meeting in Annapolis, MD. Among the activities planned are garden visits to the McWhorter, Segree, and Bradshaw gardens as well as the gardens at Historic London Town and Gardens.
